How we train here
Training here is coached, structured, and shared with other people. These are the rules that keep it that way. None of them are new: they are what we already ask of everyone on the floor. Please read them before your first session.
Booking your spot
- Book every class in advance in the app. Classes are capped at 8 people, so the spot you hold is a spot nobody else can take.
- You can book up to 7 days ahead.
- Cancel at least 8 hours before the class starts. The app locks at that point.
- If you stop coming without cancelling, the class still counts as used.
- Open gym has no cap, but tell us you are coming so a coach is ready for you.
Being on time
- Be changed and on the floor at the class time, ready to start.
- The warm-up is part of the session. It is what makes the working sets safe, and it is not optional.
- More than 10 minutes late and your coach may move you to open gym for that hour, or to a later class. Joining halfway through means loading a cold body while everyone else waits.
- First session with us: come 15 minutes early so we can take you through the basics.
Training with your coach
- Every class is coach-led. Load, sets, tempo, technique and substitutions are the coach's call.
- If you think something is wrong for you, say so and we will explain the reasoning or change it. Ignoring the instruction and training your own way in the middle of a session is not an option.
- Do not add lifts, change the program, or keep going with a movement you have been asked to stop.
- Phones stay in the bag during a class. If you need to take a call, step outside.
Your health is information we need
- Tell us about injuries, surgery, medication, pregnancy and any condition that affects training before you begin, and tell us when something changes.
- If something hurts during a session, say so at the time, not a week later.
- You are responsible for what you tell us being accurate and complete. We build your program around it.
- Training carries risk. You train at your own risk and confirm you are fit to do so.
Looking after the gym
- Every plate, bar, dumbbell and band goes back where it came from, at the end of every set.
- Wipe down benches, mats and machines after use.
- Indoor training shoes, a shirt, and your own towel.
- Chalk, food and open drinks stay off the platforms and mats.
- Filming your own sets is fine. Ask first if anyone else is in the frame.
Respect for the room
- Everybody here is working on something, whatever weight is on their bar. Coaching and correcting other members is the coaches' job, not a member's.
- Aggression, harassment and unwanted attention of any kind end a membership on the spot.
- Guests train only with a coach's agreement, arranged in advance.
Membership and payment
- Monthly memberships run for the dates on the membership, used or not.
- Drop-in packs are paid up front. A credit is spent when you book a class, not when you turn up, and it comes back if you cancel in time.
- Memberships are personal. They cannot be shared, lent or transferred.
- Fees are not refundable. If something serious happens, an injury or leaving the country, talk to us and we will work something out.
Closures
- Public holidays and any closure are announced on the site and in the app as far ahead as we can.
- If we cancel a class, we will tell you and you will not be charged for it.
If the rules are ignored
- The first time, your coach will have a word with you. That is usually the end of it.
- If it keeps happening, we will move you out of classes and into open gym.
- If it is serious, or it does not stop, we end the membership.
None of this is here to make training feel formal. It is here so that every hour in this gym is worth the money and the effort you put into it.
